Usage data: chat interactions, timestamps, device/browser metadata.
Billing data: handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.

To provide and improve the service and support.
To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
To monitor performance, security, and prevent abuse.

Data Sharing

We share data with processors necessary to operate the service (e.g., Stripe for payments, Supabase for data, hosting providers). We do not sell personal data.

Security

We use industry‑standard security controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Chat Widget & Conversation Persistence

When you interact with a TheSkinnyAI chat widget on a website, we store conversation data to provide a seamless experience:

Browser storage: Session identifiers and conversation history are cached in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage to maintain context as you navigate between pages. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to third parties.
Server storage: Conversations are stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase) associated with a session identifier. This enables conversation continuity and allows site owners to review chat history for quality and support purposes.
Session duration: Server-side sessions expire after 60 minutes of inactivity. Browser storage persists until you clear it or use the widget's "Clear conversation" feature.

Your controls:

Clear conversation: Use the "Clear conversation" button in the chat widget to delete your conversation from both your browser and our servers.
Remember conversation toggle: Uncheck "Remember conversation" in the widget to disable local caching for the current session.
Browser settings: You can clear localStorage/sessionStorage via your browser's developer tools or privacy settings at any time.

For site owners: You can disable conversation persistence entirely for your widget by adding data-session-persist="false" to the embed script.

Retention

We retain information as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Chat conversations are retained for up to 90 days unless deleted earlier by the user or site owner. You may request deletion subject to our legal obligations.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Policy over time. We will post updates on this page with a revised effective date.
